The fourth and fifth grade students are kicking off football season with an activity called Punt-Return-Tag. On day number one, students watched a video that focused on the fundamentals of punting a football. On day two, students practiced punting a rag football across the length of the gym to the opposing teams back wall. Thus, scoring one point. On day three, students continued punting the ball to their opponents back wall in the hopes of scoring 1 point. If the opposing team catches a punted ball, they may then run the ball across the 50 yard line to their goal line. Which in turn, results in six points scored. If the student carrying the ball is tagged by the opposing team, he/she must drop the ball and return to his/her side of the field.
